The Chamber's "Ribbon Cutting" at Martin Brothers Nationwide Insurance, Newton, NC - 11-13-12

A Picture is worth a Thousand Words department......... Hey, it's another brand new business & they're members of the Catawba County Chamber of Commerce. Executives, employees and friends of Martin Brothers Nationwide Insurance of Newton, celebrated. They even had Dale Earnhardt, Jr's, seemingly block long NASCAR® Race Track Simulator set up. You could choose the track you wanted to race in. Me, Homestead, FL of coarse. On the heads up display I saw palm trees flying by, for about the first thirty seconds, then I neatly crashed the car into a large plasma monitor. You had to be there. I did ask where the irritating guy with the blue telephone was. They said he wasn't invited. But I was relieved to know, they did have a "policy" to insure he wouldn't show up at your house in the foreseeable future. This ribbon cutting was as FUN as the GOP Fish Fry, last week! A pleasant time was had by all. - See all the photos, click here - Newton, NC 11-13-12

Behind the scenes at the DNC 2012 Charlotte, NC - 09-05-12

As part of the FCC's Pol-Comm 2012 Radio Frequency Enforcement Team, we had a ring side seat, from the floor, of the 2012 Democratic National Convention in Charlotte. From Presidents, to not ready for prime time players, to things you see when you don't have a net, were all on display. Reporters came from around the world to view this great tribute to American freedoms and American electioneering. In my idle time, I captured some of the action. Please see the hot link to the photos, a couple of shots below -Charlotte, NC 09-03 thru 06-12

..... "Hair Club for Men"......DNC 2012 Charlotte, NC - 09-04-12

..... Is that a Wireless Microphone in your pocket???.....DNC 2012 Charlotte, NC

This is part of the FCC's "Pol-Comm 2012" Radio Frequency Enforcement Team we had the pleasure of working with at the DNC. We were asked by the Federal Communications Commission, Wireless Telecommunications Bureau & the Media Bureau's Political Communications Committee Chairman, Louis Libin, to be a member of the Radio Frequency Coordinating Team for the DNC 2012 Charlotte Convention. The're were over 12,000 reporters and our job was to coordinate the very limited Broadcast Spectrum as it applies to Broadcast Auxiliary Services such as RF Wireless Microphones, Walkie-Talkies, etc. We taged equipment coming into the venue, starting on Sunday morning, the day before the DNC start. All broadcasters were asked to fire up their transmitters and we used Spectrum Analyzers to sweep the area. If your equipment is good, we'll tag it. This put me on the floor of the DNC each day. And I may be able to help with the presidential inauguration too. The FCC has granted a Wavier of Separation Requirements and STA (Special Temporary Authorization). So, for those four days "Pol-Comm 2012" is the law, for 100 kilometers from Time Warner Cable Arena & BoA Stadium. So, I'm now part of the "Wireless Mic Police".
